Literacy
I have again regrouped the students based on improvement.  They are all doing so well!  We are continuing to work on sight words and beginning reading. We finished up our first unit in writing this month and will be moving on to expanding our writing to stories with beginning, middle, and end.  This week we had a special writing project.  We wrote letters to injured soldiers in Iraq and Afganistan.  Everyone took such care in their letter to help cheer up a soldier. 

We have also had serveral visitors during our center time this month.  Thank you for all your help!  Visitors are always welcome in our class, especially during center time from 1-2 PM most every day.

Math
We have been working on graphing and patterning this month.  The students practiced many different graphs and even surveyed the class and made one of their own.  We will continue to build on this skill by making a graph each month during calendar time.

Religion 
Our focus is now turning towards Jesus in preparation for the Christmas/Advent season.  We also practicing prayer as talking and listening to God.

Science
We finished our unit on animals this month and will begin a new unit after Thanksgiving.

Social Studies
Our focus is on learning about the Native Americans and preparing for our celebration as Wampanoags.  We have explored the Wampanoags and the First Thanksgiving interactively with our Smartboard.  We have also made Native American instruments and painted pots in a Native American patterned style.
