How is it already the end of October?
7th Advanced math & 8th math -
During the month of November we will be working with fractions,
real numbers, and percents. These two classes are doing so well.
Science –
5th – We are starting our unit on motion. The kids love racing
jeeps down ramps and making calculations.
6th – We are starting our unit on volcanoes. Anyone want to
take me to Hawaii so I can study them more closely? Just kidding,
the students will walk away from this unit knowing the three basic
types of volcanoes and eruptions.
7th – We are starting our unit on acids and bases. This is a fun unit,
the kids will get to do many testing labs with pH paper.
8th – Gotta love genetics! We are diving into our DNA trying to
figure out why we have brown curly hair and green eyes!

Zoology Team
Our next meet will be November 10th from 3:15-4pm.
We are having the Iowa Reptile Rescue visit. We will
also decide what group we would like to support for
the holidays. Thank you for picking up the kids so
quickly after our meeting last month.
LEGO Challenge
11 students in middle school are on the LEGO
challenge team. Myself and Mr. Mulcahy are
the coaches. We will be going to competition
on December 5th (location yet to be determined)
We will be competing with a LEGO robot and presenting
our project on bee's and how they travel. The theme
this year is Smart Move. We are very excited about this endeavor!
