How does it work?

          •Certificate or gift cards for many retailers in the Des Moines area are available for purchase.  They work just like any other gift card or gift certificate and are valid at stores you normally shop at – on items you already buy!  They are purchased by the school and church at a discounted rate – you spend no extra money, but the difference profits the parish and school!

What are the benefits?

          •When you purchase and redeem SCRIP gift cards and certificates, 25% of the profit you generate is reimbursed to YOU!  The profit percentage is listed on our order form. Make sure you list your name on the SCRIP purchase record so your reimbursement is correctly processed.  For school parents, reimbursements are issued twice per year.  For St. Joseph Parish Faith Formation parents, you will receive a credit towards your Faith Formation fees.

Is this just another fundraiser?

            •No – SCRIP is a FUNDING program not a fundraiser.  Everyone buys groceries, clothes, furniture, goes out to eat and makes home improvements from time to time. 

How many times a month do you put gas in your car?  We just offer the chance to benefit your parish and school without any added expense to you – our families.

SCRIP is also sold after each Mass.  Stop by the SCRIP table at the entrance of the church.
